The Vilayam Research Programme emerged through more than twenty-five years of lived experience, observation, documentation, humanitarian practice, applied research, and interdisciplinary study before being formally named Vilayam in 2025. The programme is now being introduced internationally through the Vilayam News Editorial Series.

Vilayam News is the official editorial publication of the Vilayam Institute for Consciousness and Humanitarian Science.
The Editorial Series documents the development of the Vilayam Research Programme and features the work of Guyanese researcher Dr. Balram Persaud-Budhu (Balram Ātmanayana Rishi).
The programme emerged through more than twenty-five years of lived experience, observation, documentation, humanitarian practice, applied research, and interdisciplinary study before being formally named Vilayam in 2025.
The purpose of the Editorial Series is to encourage scholarly dialogue, interdisciplinary collaboration, institutional engagement, and future research.
