About Vilayam

A global ecosystem for consciousness, service, and scholarship

Vilayam is an international institutional ecosystem of six interconnected institutions united under the parent body, Kailash Yaatra Ashram.

What is Vilayam

Vilayam brings together humanitarian service, contemplative practice, temple stewardship, research, and education under a single lineage. Its work is organized through six institutions that share a common vision of human flourishing and dharmic responsibility.

History

The ecosystem grew out of the humanitarian and spiritual work initiated with the founding of Kailash Yaatra Ashram in 2007. Subsequent institutions — the Dhāms, the Institute, and the Academy — were established to extend that work into worship, research, and education.

Mission

To advance consciousness, humanitarian service, education, research, and human development through rigorous scholarship, compassionate service, and living contemplative practice.

Vision

A world in which the disciplines of consciousness and human development are recognized alongside the humanities and sciences as essential to the flourishing of individuals, communities, and nations.

Global vision

Vilayam works across countries and disciplines. Its programmes are open to researchers, students, practitioners, communities, and partners from every part of the world.
